Just know that photos won't be comparable, since Restore Sanity has gathered in front of the Capitol building rather than the Lincoln Memorial. Media Matters is going freak out anyway. i keep waiting for someone to restore Yusuf Islam's sanity.
Leftists never seem to learn. It is no wonder that they did not want pictures taken of the not as well attended event as the "media" would like everyone to believe. The lack of "sanity" and the "hate" signs will be the message that comes to represent the Left. On the whole a win for the people, especially on the Right, who did not attend. A young person's Halloween party at best with all of the court's jesters in attendance. One just has to love these people for providing the example of who they really are every time they get together. A rather sad affair.
The point of a rally of moderates is to say that the country should focus on doing what's really important in a civil manner.
If you can't argue your policies on their merits without resorting to ad hominem attacks likening your opponent to Hitler, then you probably shouldn't be inserting your comments into the debate before the American public.
Religious people were there. And irreligious. White people and brown people. Every rally of Americans that attempts to represent the entire country should thus be representative of the entire country.
That crowd size photo is misleading, mainly because the two images are zoomed in at different amounts, but also because the two areas of the National Mall are of different sizes but the pictures amplified to suggest that they are comparable. In very slight defense to the image, there is a scale at the bottom. Many other aerial photos show that the rally was densely populated from 3rd to 9th Sts. So much so that the side streets were backed up (especially north of the Mall), partially because people didn't want to be, say, near the Washington Monument in clear sight of the rally but with no video screens or loudspeakers.
